Kapalua Offering $45,000 Maui, Hawaii Golf Vacation Package

What could be better than starting off the New Year on a Maui, Hawaii golf vacation that includes VIP passes to the PGA Tour's season-opening Mercedes Championships tournament?

How about seven nights in your own oceanfront villa (manned with a personal butler, private chef, and executive concierge), use of a luxury car, and a custom-fit set of Ping irons for you and your traveling companion?

Kapalua's Plantation Course is just a small part of its luxury Maui, Hawaii golf vacation package.

All of these things, and a lot more, are part of Kapalua Resort's 2008 Luxury Tournament Experience, the ultimate Maui, Hawaii golf vacation package. And it can be yours for the low, low price of just $45,000 (which is, according to the US Census Bureau, roughly the total income of half of all American households).

Strangely, this over-the-top package only includes one round of golf at either Kapalua's Bay Course or the tournament venue Plantation Course.

Even stranger, play on Plantation is available only after January 7...and the package window ends on January 8. For nearly 50 grand, you'd think there'd be a bit more flexibility.

However, the package does include a lesson with one of the Kapalua Golf Academy's PGA pros, which, depending on your game, might be a lot more valuable.

Oh, and let's not forget the most important thing included in this luxury Maui, Hawaii golf vacation package: the logoed bath robe.
